I was trying to get a good shot of this spider on the van next to me in a parking lot ... not very successfully. But I love this shot even if the spider is a bit out of focus. I need to learn more about getting a better depth of field on close-ups. It didn't help that this spider seemed to have no interest in having his picture taken, but did have lots of interest in hopping a ride on the camera. Wednesday, April 16, 2008
A nice reflection
I was trying to get a good shot of this spider on the van next to me in a parking lot ... not very successfully. But I love this shot even if the spider is a bit out of focus. I need to learn more about getting a better depth of field on close-ups. It didn't help that this spider seemed to have no interest in having his picture taken, but did have lots of interest in hopping a ride on the camera.

Maeve and I discovered a spider just like this on the car's radio dial the other day...he ended up both a smear next to my foot and an object lesson in how not to crash a car while engaging in a little IWD (insect-ricide while driving...) My rule is, same rules inside a car apply as inside your house: it's every species for herself.
Not sure what to say except that maybe we should share where feasible?
In my universe, it's never feasible to be that close to a spider--yuck!
