Finally - enough rain to bring out the snails.

I know that they form a mucous plug in the end of their shell to seal in the moisture, and then go into a state of suspended animation type of place, but still ???? how do they really survive the driest July in recorded time, and just come out and go back to work when it rains nicely again???
